Foxtails by the River
This piece was made during a an artist residency at Jenni House, Whitehorse, Yukon. Jenni House is administered by Yukon Film Society, Yukon Arts Centre and Music Yukon.
Ironing
The floating repeated image on handmade flax tow paper was made by scorching with an antique iron. These works are suspended away from the wall and back lit to reveal the paper's transclucency. The ironed image can be seen from both sides.
This piece could be read as a feminist statement. I abhor ironing and housework. I did however quite enjoy making this piece.
